While most people rely on doctors to bring relief to most of these pain-causing issues, whether physical or non-physical, there’s another place to go for pain-relief. Use these 10 healing Scriptures you can use your faith to pray and see the glory of the Lord.
Most of these Bible verses come from conspicuous people in the Bible who experience real pain, yet trusted our beautiful Lord’s ability to HEAL better than anything else in the world.
One of the great titles of our beautiful Lord and God in the Old Testament is Jehovah-Rapha: “The Lord Who Heals”.
Here’s also what the Lord promises to do to those who hurt you as well, because we have a jealous God who protects us from those hurtful people too.
This post is aimed at those who have any kind of wound or pain, whether your heart is hurt, or your pain is physical. The type of pain doesn’t make a difference.
That is because while people who don’t know our beautiful Lord Jesus go to different places to get “treatment” for different types of wounds(to a psychiatrist for psychological wounds, maybe to a friend for an emotional one, and so on) we do something different.
We go directly to the One who heals anything and everything and He heals better than anyone else. Use these to pray, while having faith and your healing will come.
So, let’s discover these 10 amazing healing Scriptures for you to start praying for healing:
- Psalm 103:2-4:
2 “Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion”.
2. Psalm 147:3:
2 “The Lord builds up Jerusalem;
he gathers the exiles of Israel.
3 He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds”.
3. Jeremiah 33:6:
6 “‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security. 7 I will bring Judah and Israel back from captivity and will rebuild them as they were before. 8 I will cleanse them from all the sin they have committed against me and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against me”.
Sometimes its our own sin, or our own bad actions that go against the Bible’s teachings that bring us hurt, because we can sometimes do things that are anti-Biblical and we’re not even aware of them.
In that case, the Lord promises healing and cleansing from our hurtful sin. Hallelujah.
4. Job 5:18:
18 “For he wounds, but he also binds up;
he injures, but his hands also heal.
19 From six calamities he will rescue you;
in seven no harm will touch you”.
Sometimes God puts us in situation where we can be hurt, just like He did with Job, but only with a Higher purpose it’s difficult for our human mind to fully understand. Yet, Job’s prophecy in this astonishing Bible verse is that He will heal you and bind you up after everything’s passed.
5. Matthew 4:23:
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.
6. Jeremiah 30:16-17:
16 “Those who plunder you will be plundered;
all who make spoil of you I will despoil.
17 But I will restore you to health
and heal your wounds,’
declares the Lord,
‘because you are called an outcast,
Zion for whom no one cares.’ “
7. 1 Peter 2:24:
24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
8. James 5:14-16:
14 “Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective”.
9. Mark 5:32-34:
32 “But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering”.
10. Revelation 21:4:
4 “‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
In conclusion, my dear Christian, the main takeaway from these Bible verses is this:
Trust and faith.
If people prayed with faith for their healing, doctors wouldn’t be at all necessary.
In the midst of your pain, ailment, whether it is physical or non-physical, you can TRUST the Lord. And this is serious business. We have a beautiful Lord who promised us physical/psychological wellbeing and He will always fulfill.
Therefore, I encourage you to pray with faith while trusting God in total patience and not doctors.
You might have to go to different place with different doctors to get treatment for several issues, but with our God, you only have to go one place. Hallelujah.
