There are like 40 different amazing truths from the blessed book of Esther.
The book of Esther is one special book. It’s one of the most beautiful books in the Bible and so full of great takeaways for the modern Christian today.
This book is also the reason why the Jewish people created the Jewish festivity of Purim, which is celebrated annually amongst all Jewish people in the world.
But for Christian women today, it is even MORE amazing. Esther was physically beautiful, greatly used by God, and also an orphan.

Let’s discover the 10 of the best lessons from the book of Esther you must use to strengthen, inspire, and transform your faith now.

The Lord Is Always Working In The “Behind The Curtain” Of Your Life

Esther 2:12: “Each young woman’s turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after she had completed twelve months’ preparation, according to the regulations for the women, for thus were the days of their preparation apportioned: six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes and preparations for beautifying women”.
Esther had to undergo a detailed, delicate and extensive process of preparation before going to be presented before the king Xerxes(also called Ahasuerus).
Her presentation before the king was not voluntary, and the circumstances that brought the separation from her only relative, Mordecai were out of her control as well.
But, as we are blessed to know how this story ended, we know that God was working according to his perfect will in situations that seemed negative and out of control to bring illustrious outcomes.
This passage on the book of Esther is a symbol from God on how all things for our beautiful Lord work for his perfect purposes.
Just like He did for Esther, the Lord is working in all the “behind the curtain” processes in your life.
2. Following The Holy Spirit’s Guide For Your Life Is Extremely Important
Esther 2:15: “She requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her”.
In the book of Esther, Hegai the king’s eunuch can symbolize the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who prepares us to meet with our King, our Lord Jesus, in his Second Coming.
Esther can represent us, the followers and disciples of our beloved Lord Jesus, who desperately NEED all the help we can get in this troublesome life.
The Bible tells us that whatever Hegai advised, ordered, and recommended Esther, she did.
The Bible also doesn’t say what was it that Hegai ordered, but it must have been important, because he was the king’s eunuch.
If what Hegai ordered was a milk bath, a bubble bath, a revitalizing shampoo, exotic herbs, or whatever it was, Esther followed it. Without questioning.
And, what he ordered her could have made all the difference in her becoming the queen of all Persia, that saved thousands upon thousands of people.
In the same way, it is important that we obey the guidance of the Lord Jesus, and “request nothing” but what our Lord Christ demands in our lives.
Just like Esther.
3. Life Isn’t Going To Be Always Perfect
Esther 3:5: “When Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow or pay him homage, Haman was filled with wrath. 6 But he disdained to lay hands on Mordecai alone, for they had told him of the people of Mordecai. Instead, Haman sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus—the people of Mordecai”.
Just like it is in every story, the Bible wants us to know there will always be a villain, someone that seeks to destroy, interfere or cause trouble among God’s people.
Life isn’t going to be always perfect, but the book of Esther brings one of the most comforting truths ever: God is always there to REALLY help you.
4. If You Don’t Act For The Lord, He Will Use Another
Esther 4:13: “And Mordecai told them to answer Esther: “Do not think in your heart that you will escape in the king’s palace any more than all the other Jews. 14 For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place,”
Let’s take a look at those incredible words. “If you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place”.
This passage depicts to us: if you don’t do God’s beautiful and perfect will, then God will use another woman, man or any person to do it.
If that happens you could lose God’s blessings for your life, or even worse, who knows what the consequences could be?
Obey our beautiful Lord Jesus TODAY.
5. Be In The Presence Of God Before Facing Problems
Esther 4:15: “Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”
This is the most famous quote from Queen Esther, and quite frankly, it is incredibly beautiful.
There are a million lessons that could come out of this bold, beautiful statement from Esther, but there is one that you must learn right now:
Never confront problems or the different situations in life without having been in the presence of our Lord. For God to help you, do your part.
He will hold up His end of the “bargain”. She could have been proud and trusted her great beauty (as the Bible emphasized her great physical beauty).
But no, she knew she had to fast. For 3 long days. Because to face issues in life, you MUST go to the presence of the Lord. Hallelujah.
6. God Will Give You More Abundantly Than You Can Think Or Imagine
Esther 5:3: “And the king said to her, “What do you wish, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given to you—up to half the kingdom!”
This event in the book of Esther is an amazing symbol of how our beautiful God will do things for us, and how He will give us more than we even ask.
Esther went, risking her life and didn’t know what was going to happen to her but God made the king give her so much more: “Even up to half the kingdom”!
This is so breathtakingly beautiful in the book of Esther. That’s why Ephesians 3:20 confirms:
Ephesians 3:20: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen”.
God will always give you more than you think of, or imagine. Just like He did for the Esther(while saving her life), He will do so for you too.
7. Your Origin Doesn’t Matter, God Can Use You For Great Things
Esther 2:7: “Mordecai had a cousin named Hadassah, whom he had brought up because she had neither father nor mother. This young woman, who was also known as Esther, had a lovely figure and was beautiful. Mordecai had taken her as his own daughter when her father and mother died”.
What many people don’t know is that Esther was a humble orphan.
She was poor, didn’t have parents, yet our great God had great plans for her.
Those plans were becoming queen of a whole country and saving thousands and thousands of Jews. Because for God, your socioeconomic situation and origin doesn’t matter. Glory be to Him forever.
8. Pray For Having The Virtue Of Esther: Listening
Again Esther 2:12 and Esther 2:15 are have great implications for us.
Esther 2:12: “Before a young woman’s turn came to go in to King Xerxes, she had to complete twelve months of beauty treatments prescribed for the women, six months with oil of myrrh and six with perfumes and cosmetics”.
Esther 2:15: “She requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her”.
It is similar to point 2 on this post: following the Holy Spirit’s guide in your life.
Except on this point it’s important to emphasize what enabled the beloved Esther to follow what God wanted for her to do.
She had the virtue of listening.
Something a lot of us could work on.
We must pray everyday not only for being able to listen better to God, but have the humility of Esther, the humility to listen.
9. God Can Bring Something Beautifully Good Out Of Something Bad
Esther 1:12: But when the attendants delivered the king’s command, Queen Vashti refused to come. Then the king became furious and burned with anger.
When Vashti ignored what her husband the king commanded, it was bad, very bad.
Her husband felt disrespected and humiliated. Overall, the situation was very bad, but God had great plans for this situation.
If you are a Christian woman, a Christian man, or just simply someone who loves our beautiful Lord, and you are in trouble right now, remember this:
The Lord Jesus can bring something beautiful out of whatever you’re going through, like He did for Esther.
10. Last But Not Least: God’s Name Is Not Even Mentioned Once In The Book Of Esther
This last but definitely not least point is reminiscent of truth #1, and is a special fun-fact not many people notice about the book of Esther:
Unlike the many other books in the Bible, throughout whole book of Esther, the word “God” is not mentioned once. It’s like God is not even in the book.
Our beautiful Lord and God intended for that to be like that in this book.
It’s extremely important to notice this in the book of Esther because it has ONE life-changing implication for us:
We may not always see God’s Hand in our lives, but it’s ALWAYS there.
While the whole thing seemed CHAOTIC in the book of Esther, guess what: All the events unfolded beautifully according to God’s perfect will in the book.
Give glory to the Lord right now for that. It’s doesn’t matter how much death, chaos, disorder, problems there were in the book of Esther(or in your life)
God is ALWAYS there to make everything unfold beautifully.
In conclusion, use these 10 life-changing lessons from the book of Esther in your life like God intended for you to do.
The book of Esther is there to bless the Christian woman today. It’s there to transform, to edify, to strengthen, to comfort, and to bless your faith.
God has opened my eyes to see what the books of Esther entails. I am going through a very difficult time right now and everywhere I turn, “Perhaps you were created for a time such as this’ kept popping up. I am an orphan as well (hmm I am 50 now so…). I am trying to figure out what the Lord is trying to show me, but O guess it’s just that He is faithful. I know He has a plan… he showed me a vision and said ”My daughters are in bondage. They feel as though they do not matter. I want them out of the darkness, because I do love and hear them, they matter a great deal to me’. Will you help them?” And of course I said ‘Yes’. So, thank you!
The bible is the road map to living life it needs to be follwu
Wow…whan an eye-opener. It was just what I needed to be encourage while I going throug these desert period in my life. Even though God name isn’t mention..I could feel His presence in every word. Thank you Father for a second chance through the book of Ester.. I feel so uplifted. You bless me. Gods blessings over your life.
Recently we had a Bible study where a lady was sad that at 88 years old she didn’t feel she could do anything for God. The usual answer is to tell people to pray but you know that’s not always your thing, intercession is a gift too. Anyway over the next few days God kept whispering the name Mordecai to me. I went and read the story again. What I saw was that Mordecai simply waited in the garden in order to encourage and support Esther. When I explained this to her she was so happy to hear that she too had an active part in God’s kingdom. To love, watch, encourage and support others. God bless you X
Thank you
